David Mayfield, Piano

David Mayfield comes to SNJ Studio of Music from East Tennessee where he served as music director for First Presbyterian Church of Hunstville and pianist for amateur acting troupe the Plateau Players. While in Tennessee, David performed regionally giving both solo and chamber recitals as well as giving masterclasses. He also took a year off to serve as an AmeriCorps Vista Volunteer seeking to improve the lives of rural disenfranchised communities.

David is on the faculty of Midland University where he serves as Collaborative Pianist and Piano Instructor and teaches Piano Proficiency, Piano Lessons, Music Theory, and Aural Skills. He also accompanies the Midland University Choir, vocal and instrumental students, musicals, and guest artist recitals.

David received his Bachelor of Arts in Piano from Lee University studying under Phillip Thomas, and completed his Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville studying under David Northington, piano and Fay Adams, piano pedagogy.
