Drew Firkins, Voice

BM Candidate, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Drew Firkins is an SNJ Studio-grown vocalist, music educator, and freelance composer/arranger based out of Omaha, NE. He is Bachelor of Music candidate in Music Education and Composition at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Drew currently serves as the music director of the acclaimed all-male a cappella group, Bathtub Dogs, and the UNL Big Red Singers collegiate show choir.

His ensemble experience is extensive, having been a member of the UNL Chamber Singers, University Singers, Big Red Singers, Symphonic Band, Cornhusker Marching Band, Bathtub Dogs a cappella group, Blue Stars drum and bugle corps, SNJ Singers and is a proud alumnus of Millard West High School’s show choir “West in the Groove”, where he served as dance captain for two years. He has also had roles in numerous musical productions, including “Link” in Hairspray, “Drake” in HONK!, and “Bun Foo” in Thoroughly Modern Millie.

An active composer and show choir arranger, he has worked for over twenty high school and collegiate show choirs in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Ohio, New Mexico, and Alabama. He also serves as a clinician for several high school show choirs and show bands in the area, and served as a band director for two years with the Millard West show choirs.

In his free time, Drew enjoys playing Nintendo games, cooking, being outdoors, traveling around the country, and cheering on the Huskers!
