Erinn Machacek, Voice

Erinn Machacek has been conducting choirs of all types for the last 15 years. Prior to this year, Erinn was the director of Choral activities at Bryan High School with Omaha Public Schools for 9 years. Most recently, however, she is breaking ground within Omaha Public Schools creating and teaching a music curriculum specially designed for students with disabilities at the high school level. Ultimately she hopes to make not only resources available to teachers, but more opportunities for students of ALL kinds and all ages to have life long experiences through music.
She currently has a private voice studio at Sharon North Jones studio of music and continues to conduct the 50 member adult chancel choir at Lutheran Church of the Master. She holds bachelors degrees in Vocal performance and music education and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College, and is currently completing her Masters degree in Secondary Special Education through the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Professionally speaking, her educational teaching experience has included Lincoln, Columbus, Norfolk, Battle Creek, and Schuyler and Omaha. Honors include: “Sing Around Nebraska” and “Singing Youth” Honor Choir director, guest adjudicator for Doane Vocal Festival and Nebraska Choral Directors Association Jazz/Show Choir competition, Cross County conference choral clinic director, Midstates honor choir conductor, Dorian Opera Apprentice program at Luther College, Repertoire and Standards Chair for Nebraska State Choral Directors, 2006 Planning committee for Regional North Central Choral Directors Convention, and 2004 recipient of Nebraska Choral Director’s Outstanding Young Director of the Year.
Performance experience includes stage productions, musical, theatrical and operatic in nature, Omaha Chamber Singers, “Cantucum Novum,” and the Lou Arnold Jazz Orchestra. Professional involvement includes Nebraska Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, Nebraska Choral Directors Association, American Choral Director Association, and Omaha Education Association,
Erinn, her 11 year twins Treyce and Madison, and her great dane “Hero”, currently reside in Omaha.
