Raised in Omaha Nebraska, Camille DeVore began singing at an early age and focused on music all through school. She sang numerous jingles during her freshman year at the University of Nebraska, then transferred to Boston's Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee, Camille was a featured performer for Quincy Jones and Oscar Peterson, and was the lead singer for the school's Jazz Choir. She sang on many sessions in and around Boston and worked as a keyboardist/vocalist with popular area bands.After graduating in 1984, Camille stayed on as an instructor at Berklee as a vocal coach and choreographer for major concert productions and taught stage performance, recording studio techniques and ear training. Camille moved to Nashville in 1989. Word of her diverse stylistic range and solid professionalism quickly spread among local contractors. She worked steadily in Music City singing for recording sessions and live dates. As a voice over artist, Camille is the voice of "Veronica" on the cartoon series "Archie's Weird Mysteries."With the focus on her first musical love, jazz, Camille is currently performing in the Midwest. Her repertoire of standards and classic popular songs is a fitting showcase for her singular voice and broad interpretive skill. Camille is a dynamic and expressive performer; a must-see for anyone who loves music delivered with depth, soul and originality. As an Artist In Residence for SNJ Studios and Performer's Edge, Jill will be on-site to conduct a master class and private vocal coaching for our students. She will also make a guest appearance at our Saturday Morning Performer's Edge session on September 29th. Performer's Edge will also have group rate tickets available for purchase to "Thoroughly Modern Mille" on October 14th. Details below.
