"Squirm!"

Spiders! Snakes! Bats! Worms! Join the wiggles and squiggles as the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Daddy Long Legs, Hook Worm, Snake and a host of other critters take over the stage. But wait....just listen carefully to learn how things that make us squirm can really be "A-OK."

Dates: June 4- 8
TIME: 10 AM to Noon, Performance Noon on Friday June 8

Elementary School Camp
"Rats!"

2012-2013 Grades 3-5

Rats! The town of Hamelin is overrun with them and the citizens are in a tizzy until the mysterious Pied Piper appears, offering to solve their dilemma for a small fee. Sing, act and dance the story like never before in this fast-paced musical setting.

Dates: June 11-15
TIME: 9 AM to 3PM, Performance 7:30 on Friday June 15

Middle School School Camp
"A GLEE Summer!"

2012-2013 Grades 6-9

Sing and dance to the great songs of Glee, with an original script designed for our middle-school campers. With choreography by award-winning show choir choreographer Melanie Walters, this show will be a hit with kids and audiences.

Learn a whole show in a week, with plenty of opportunities for solos and a chance to be in the spotlight! Enjoy an exciting week at Performer’s Edge – with “Glee!”

Dates: June 18-22

Summer Jazz Improvisation Workshop with Steve Raybine

If you love jazz and want to learn more, we have an exciting opportunity for you!  Jazz vibraphone great, Steve Raybine, will present a week-long improvisation workshop here at SNJ Studio.

  • Improve and expand your jazz improvisation skills
  • Practice in a combo-like setting with master musicians
  • Learn harmonic, melodic, and rythmic components of jazz improv

All...with the incomparable Steve Raybine!

Prerequisites:

  1. Students should possess a reasonable degree of playing ability on their instrument consistent with high school band literature.
  2. If possible (but not necessary) students should have some familiarity with jazz music.

Dates:  June 4 - 8

Time: 12:30 - 2:30 Daily

Performance: Friday, June 8 at 2:30 PM

Who:  All intrumentalists (except drums) in Grades 8-12 (use 2012-13 grade level)

Cost:  $135 (includes T-shirt and materials)

Steve Raybine is a virtuoso jazz vibraphonist; percussionist; composer/arranger; instructor and clinician. He is a master teacher who has been teaching music students in elementary school, middle school, high school, college and beyond for over 20 years.  He received degrees from the prestigious Eastman School of Music, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of Iowa.
