Oscar Vázquez Medrano is a pianist from Mexico City who specializes in Mexican and Spanish music as well as the piano works of Chopin and Liszt. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he studies with Steinway Artist Dr. Mark Clinton. He was recently a guest artist for “The Ponce Project” and performed at the College Music Society National Conference in 2021. Oscar received his master´s degree from Kansas State University under the teaching of Dr. Slawomir Dobrzanski and his bachelor´s degree from The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he studied with Jesus Ma. Figueroa. Oscar has performed throughout Mexico and internationally in the United States and Slovakia.
