Christian Schuerman is a dedicated music educator and conductor based in Omaha, Nebraska, specializing in string education and youth orchestral development.

He earned his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2019, where he was actively involved in programs such as the Cornhusker Marching Band (playing tuba) and the UNL/LPS String Project, gaining early hands-on experience teaching young string students while still an undergraduate.

In 2024, he completed his Master's in Music (M.M.) from the same institution. His graduate research focused on "Leavers and Movers: Turnover of Music Teachers in Nebraska," exploring factors influencing why music educators leave the profession or change schools—demonstrating his commitment to improving retention and support for music teachers statewide.

Since 2019, Christian has taught elementary strings in Omaha Public Schools, working with 4th through 6th graders to build foundational skills in violin, viola, cello, and bass. He is recognized as a music teacher in the district and has been active in educator advocacy, including participation in Nebraska State Education Association events and serving in roles with the Omaha Education Association.

In addition to his school role, Christian contributes significantly to the Omaha Area Youth Orchestras (OAYO), where he has served as conductor of Prelude Strings (the introductory-level ensemble) and as a sectional coach for Youth Concert Strings and Youth Philharmonic, helping young musicians refine technique, ensemble playing, and musicianship.

Passionate about expanding access to orchestral music education, Christian (along with his wife Melissa) has publicly supported initiatives to introduce orchestra programs in districts like Elkhorn Public Schools. His work bridges public school teaching, community youth ensembles, and advocacy for the arts, inspiring the next generation of string players and musicians in the Omaha area.
