Kaitlin Pearson is an Omaha-based mezzo-soprano. She received a Master of Music from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and appeared as the title role in USD Opera’s production of Cendrillon by Massenet. In 2019, she was awarded third prize at the National level in the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition. Most recently, Ms. Pearson performed the role of Tisbe in Rossini’s La Cenerentola as a young artist with Red River Lyric Opera.
Previously, Kaitlin served as a Core Ensemble member with Résonance, a premier vocal ensemble in Omaha, and as a substitute soloist for the First Church of Christ Scientist in Lincoln. Originally from Gretna, NE, she received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she developed a passion for bringing characters to life through art song, opera, and musical theatre. Other operatic roles include Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, the Mother in Menotti’s The Consul, Nettie in Bolcom’s A Wedding, and Amahl in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors.
Teaching both group and one-on-one voice lessons as part of her graduate assistantship led Ms. Pearson to pursue voice instruction in the Twin Cities and Omaha metro area. Kaitlin strives to guide students of all ages and abilities towards individual, healthy, and confident vocal production through a variety of genres.
